York Alexander Technique Centre (YATC), opened it’s doors to the public in June 2019.
Formerly known as York Alexander Technique School (YATS), we moved our premises to The Gatehouse, 30 Cemetery Road, York YO10 5AJ.
I am one of a team of three directors/teachers with Pam Mason MSTAT and Lesley Glover MSTAT.
We are continuing the already well establised full-time York Alexander Teacher Training Course.
Pam Mason is the Head of Training, I am the Named Assistant teacher and Lesley Glover is the third teacher on the training course.
The Centre also offers workshops, lessons and tasters for all.
Our first, wonderful, three day Summer School ran in August 2019. Participants enjoyed exploring the theme of ‘Understanding and working with the body and whole self to find ease and flow in movement and stillness’.
We are planning to run more two and three day events next Spring, Summer and Autumn.
We also participated in the York Over 50s Festival, offering Introductory Alexander workshops and Taster sessions, Creative writing using Alexander Technique, Finding your Authentic Voice using Alexander Technique.
